Fabulously Functional Work Spaces

We spend so much time in our home offices, laundry rooms and kids workspaces that why not make them beautiful spaces that we love to work in. When it comes to home renovations, one of the first questions I ask my client is — what is the primary function of this space? How much time do you spend here and how do you want it to feel and work when we are done? I want to make sure that this is a space that my client loves to come to and will add lasting value to the home for years to come.

Time for a Refresh – My client spends a lot of time in this space since it’s her workspace, the laundry room and command center for the family. It was time for a refresh to lighten and brighten the room so it’s a happy place for the client to be everyday.

Mudroom Turned Extra Closet Space – This simple solution offers a space to store everything from kids’ book bags to purses and extra dog leashes with built-in custom cabinetry for each family member. Bonus: storage bins with ventilation for shoes!

Who said chores had to be boring? This laundry space has so much function in it – it’s crazy – a sink, pull out hanging for clothes, space for folding and even a crafting space.

Don’t forget the kiddos! If you are designing with children in mind, functionality is one of the most important factors and this back area of a client’s home is no exception! The kids’ homework space has a large work table and custom built-in cabinets to keep the mess under control. Light and bright with a large window, your kids won’t mind working here and their creativity is sure to thrive. Right off this space, there is a laundry room where mom can catch up on laundry while keeping track of the kids!
