Before and After

My Reclaimed Wood Ceiling

To say I’m a little obsessed with all things reclaimed wood, would be an understatement.  First it was my new mantel and now it’s my tray ceiling in our master bedroom.

It all started when I saw this amazing reclaimed barn wood.  I knew I had to use it in my own home somewhere.

“The lightbulb went on when I was deciding on a paint color for my master bedroom tray ceiling — the perfect place for the wood planks.  It will add the texture and warmth that the room needs.”

Here are the pictures from start to finish!

How many guys does it take to install these wood planks?  Two and one person cheering them on.  Seriously working with anything that’s over your head is not an easy job and my guys did an amazing job.

Now that the ceiling is done, it’s on to the wallcovering.  I have had my eye on this wallpaper even before we bought this house.  I knew I would be using it somewhere.   I’m just applying it on the main focal point wall.  What a statement it makes!

It’s always the accessories and lighting that finishes every room.  The reclaimed wood and the crane wallcovering all make pretty bold statements, so the chandelier couldn’t be wimpy.  And it’s not.

This FABULOUS Spiked Chandelier is truly the icing on the cake.  It is totally unexpected in this space — which is why I like it so much.  Now it’s time for bedding and accessorizing the entire space.  Pictures of the entire master bedroom coming soon. 🙂
